New legal recreational budget

The Kansspelautoriteit has implemented new policy rules on responsible gambling. Following these new rules, you have a new responsible gaming tool at your disposition to manage your gaming activity. You can find all the information that you may need below.

In order to protect players from playing above their means, the Kansspelautoriteit has implemented a new legal recreational budget. From 1st of October, this monthly budget must be set by default at €700 for players over 24 and €300 for players under 24. As soon as you reach the limit of your budget, the deposit will be blocked for the remainder of the calendar month.

The recreational budget is based on a calendar month. So, on the 1st of each month, your budget will be reset regardless of how much you deposited and withdrew the previous month. You will then be able to make transactions within the budget for the whole calendar month.

This is different to your monthly deposit limit, which is calculated over the last 30 days (rolling period). If your monthly deposit limit is lower than your legal recreational budget, the more restrictive limit will always apply (as always).

Yes! You can change your monthly recreational budget at any time and with immediate effect if you want to set a lower budget. If you want to increase it, you can simply send us proof of income. Once you send your documents, you will receive a response within 72 hours (3 working days). Your new Monthly recreational budget come into effect 7 days after the request (if you have received a positive response); Please note that the legal recreational budget will never be set to more than 30% of your monthly net income.

This differs from your monthly deposit limit, which is calculated based on the past 30 days (rolling period). The most restrictive limit will always apply if your monthly deposit limit is lower than your statutory recreational budget (as is usually the case).

The new rules on responsible gaming, including the legal recreational budget, will enter into effect on 1 October 2024.
